A few years ago I bought a Belkin USB2Serial adapter because most laptops don’t have a serial port anymore. I need RS-232 to be able to configure network equipment so I got myself this adapter.
The sad thing is that Belkin does not supply Windows 7 X64 drivers for it, luckily I found another driver that works like a charm.
You can get if from http://www.prolific.com.tw/eng/downloads.asp?id=31
Just download this one from the site
If there is a new version you could probably use it but this one is working for me.
EDIT: Profilic updated their Website and I don’t own the hardware in question anymore. I think the driver download is this one http://www.prolific.com.tw/US/ShowProduct.aspx?p_id=225&pcid=41 but I can’t confirm. So anyone trying the driver please comment if it works for the F5U103v adapter

We have this adapter at work too and I wanted to install it on a new Windows 7 64 bit machine recently. The driver you mentioned above worked great! Thanks a lot.
Worked great for the Belkin F5U103v on Windows 7 64-bit
link broken! please update, thanks!
Thank you very much, i tried the driver on new website and it works with windows 7 32 bit.
Thanks a lot.
Just tested the version 1.7 with W7 64bit and Belkin F5U103v and works fine.
Thank you for this information!

Does not work for me on Windows 8
Hi René,
I don’t have the hardware anymore so can’t comment on Windows 8. This driver was for Windows 7.
Thank you very much for this priceless advice. Downloaded and installed the latest Version 1.7.0 and it works perfect on Windows 7. One Problem less in my working life.
Greetings from Germany.
Hi all, just wanted to let you know that the Prolific site DOES have the driver available. Just use “guest”/”guest” as a username and password. Probably safer than finding it elsewhere on the web.
still works, thanks
