Windows Server 2003 DCOM Error 10015
I suddenly got event id 10015 from DCOM in my print server logs, and there was a lot of them. I found one client generated four errors in one minute.
I found a few solutions and everything was pointing to the HP Toolbox software running on the client. To get rid of the error without removing the HP Toolbox software from the client do the following.
- Go to administrative tools
- Open Component services
- Open Component Services, Computers, My Computer, DCOM Config
- Find HP Port Resolver, right click and select properties
- Go to the tab Location and select “Run application on the computer where the data is located” if “Run application on this computer” is selected unselect it.
That should do it.
